I must say I feel guilty that I slept on their first and third albums for so long simply because I heard “It’s nice outside” first and listened to it religiously since I stumbled across the duo. Roc Marciano appears to be in a great place artistically. He is basically a masterpiece machine given his ability to create spare but compelling tracks to match his cinematic lyrical panache and awesome silver-tongued flow. This release was supposed to be a mixtape, but each of the tracks commix seamlessly like an album, leaving the listener with a plush portrait of Roc's world and its sacred street tales. We even find him taking chances, i.e., singing & speaking in character, and it works.
